Monday, January 12, 2009 – by Curtis Snyder, RMISASkiing.com ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Eight student-athletes earned RMISA Skier of the Week awards for their respective performances in the Alaska Anchorage and Seawolf Invitationals, held here last week. Alaska Anchorage won the Seawolf Invitational while Colorado took home the UAA Invitational title.
For the UAA Invite, the skiers of the week:
- Men’s Alpine: Nikolai Finne, New Mexico – 1st in the GS, 6th in the SL
- Women’s Alpine: Estelle Pecherand-Charmet, New Mexico – 1st in the SL, 3rd in the GS
- Men’s Nordic: Vegard Kjoelhamar, Colorado – 1st in the FR, 2nd in the CL
- Women’s Nordic: Antje Maempel, Denver – 1st in the CL, 2nd in the FS
For the Seawolf Invite, the skiers of the week:
- Men’s Alpine: John Buchar, Denver – 3rd in the SL, 4th in the GS
- Women’s Alpine: Alexandra Parker, Alaska Anchorage – 1st in the GS, 1st in the SL
- Men’s Nordic: Simon Reissmann, New Mexico – 1st in the FS, 4th in the CL
- Women’s Nordic: Maria Grevsgaard, Colorado – 1st in the FS, 3rd in the CL
