A total of 40 student-athletes from seven of the nine RMISA member institutions were named to the first- and second-team All-Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association Wednesday. The teams are compiled using the qualification lists for the upcoming NCAA Championships, with the top five individuals earning first-team All-RMISA and the next five second team. There are four teams in all, one for both men and women in both nordic and alpine disciplines.
The University of Colorado led the way with 11 skiers making the squads, including eight first-team members and four first team members in men’s nordic alone. The University of Denver and University of New Mexico each had eight skiers honored while Alaska Anchorage had six, Utah five and Montana State and Nevada one apiece.
In men’s alpine action, Denver led the way with three total skiers earning the award, with one first team and a pair on the second team. New Mexico had two first team members for men’s alpine.
Women’s alpine saw Colorado and New Mexico both receive two first-team honorees and each also had one on the second team.
The men’s nordic team saw the Buffaloes garner four first team honorees while Alaska Anchorage had one first team and one second team member and the Lobos had two on the second team.
Denver led the way in women’s nordic with two skiers earning first-team honors.
