DENVER—RMISA Skiers of the Meet were announced for the Alaska series of races that included the UAF Invitational for Nordic, the alpine portion of the UAA Invitational and the RMISA Championships, which were conducted in the last frontier Feb. 17-22.
First in Fairbanks at the UAF Invitational, Denver's Florian Knopf and Montana State's Anna Pryce both earned the honor, and both had identical finishes of second and fifth in the two races on the UAF campus.
In the UAA Invitational for the alpine portion, Colorado's Magdalena Luczak and Justin Bigatel earned the honors. Luczak won the GS race and was fourth in the slalom race, and Bigael was sixth and eighth, respectively.
On to the RMISA Championships and the honors were grabbed by a pair of Buffs and pair of Utes, one in each discipline. Johannes Flaaten took home the honor for men's Nordic after a fifth and sixth place finish while Celine Mayer took home honors in women's Nordic for Utah after taking a win and eighth place finish. Colorado's Louis Fausa won for men's alpine with a first and fourth place finish and Utah's Claire Timmermann won for women's alpine with a second and seventh place finish.
The honor is given to the highest performing skier in both races within a meet, with the caveat that a skier can only win once per season.
