GEORGETOWN, Colo.—Colorado's Filip Wahlqvist and Denver's Sara Rask opened up the 2025 season on a high note by winning a slalom qualifier race here ahead of the DU Invitational Sunday.

Wahlqvist won after throwing down the fastest first run in the field. He held off Utah's Thomas Hoffman, who had the second fastest first run and held that position. Colorado's Etienne Mazellier rounded out the podium in third place and Utah's pair of Ralphael Lessard and Oliver Parazette rounded out the top five.

Rask won the women's slalom qualifier race and much like the men's race, the top two from the first run held their positions in the second run with Rask defeating Alaska Anchorage's Ella Bromee by .31 hundredths of a second. Colorado's Ashley Campbell rounded out the podium in third place and Denver's Nicola Rountree-Williams and Utah's Kaja Norbye rounded out the top five.

The teams will remain at Loveland for another slalom race, this time part of the DU Invitational, on Monday.
