Wednesday, January 10, 2018 • by Brooke Frederickson, RMISA

DENVER—The Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Skiing Association has added Colorado Mesa University as an associate member in Nordic skiing.

Colorado Mesa University is the fourth associate member of the RMISA, joining Colorado Mountain College, Wyoming and Westminster College. Associate members are non-NCAA teams that wish to participate in the RMISA.

The CMU Nordic team is classified as a club team at the school and competes within the United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association. The CMU Nordic team had three student-athletes earn USCSA All-America honors in 2017: Roan Hall, Andrew James and Emma Malmquist.

The addition of Colorado Mesa brings the total RMISA membership to 11, with the four associate members joining full members Alaska Anchorage, Alaska Fairbanks, Colorado, Denver, Montana State, New Mexico and Utah. RMISA schools have won 56 of the 65 NCAA Championships held.
