Denver Takes Lead At Own Invitational, Utah Wins Men's Race

GEORGETOWN, Colo.— Denver used a dominant performance in the women's slalom to take the early lead at the Denver Invitational on Monday, while Utah controlled the men's race behind a deep showing across the top 10.

Denver was led by Sara Rask, who won the women's slalom, while teammates Elisabeth Creighton and Mia Hunt tied for third. The Pioneers placed five skiers inside the top nine, with Stella Buchheister finishing sixth and Nicola Rountree-Williams ninth to cap the group and push Denver to the top of the team standings after the opening race.

Utah answered on the men's side with four skiers among the top seven. Johs Herland won the slalom for the Utes, while Pierick Charest placed fifth, Harry Hoffman sixth and Sindre Myklebust seventh to anchor Utah's team score.
