DENVER—A total of 86 student-athletes from RMISA schools were named to the 2015 National Collegiate All-Academic Ski Team, administered and awarded by the United States Collegiate Ski Coaches Association.
The award, which is believed to be one of, if not the, hardest team of its kind nationally to qualify for, is given to those student-athletes who maintain a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade point average and competed at the NCAA Western Regional last week in Alaska.
Alaska Anchorage led the way with 20 student-athletes honored on the list and all six full RMISA members had at least 11 honored on the team.
Not only do these skiers excel in the classroom, many also excel on the slopes and trails, as an astonishing 50 of the 74 RMISA skiers who will represent the six full RMISA members at the NCAA Championships were named to the team, meaning more than 2/3 of the skiers attending NCAAs from the RMISA maintain above a 3.5 grade point average.
